Our Ultimate Creative Passion in Christ
Passion or Potential? Ultimate or Unique? Does it Matter Which Words Get Used?
Why did I name this website “Launch Your Well Being?” Read on to find out.
I have a passion that lights up my world. My passion is discovering and living into my Ultimate Creative Passion in Christ, and helping others do the same.
The word “passion” in my phrase, is not a static word that doesn’t go anywhere. No, “passion” is dynamic. “Passion” is alive! “Passion” has forward momentum, driving my choices and activities each day. For me, it means no less than discovering my purpose in life, and pursuing that fulfillment. Not just that pursuit, but knowing the purpose of the fulfillment and intentionally living into it is sheer joy! And it lights up my life!
I believe that that kind of passion is possible for every person God ever created. But not every one has found their passion, their purpose in life. Finding it can be a life long journey that is filled with moments of every kind of emotion that humans are capable of. There are the proverbial “ups and downs,” the times of happiness and the times of trauma and sorrow. Life’s journey can sometimes feel like a wilderness that may have breath-taking scenery in it, but is also filled with particular dangers and temptations.
It takes intentionality to stay on the journey through the wilderness, and determination to discover and begin to live into your life’s purpose, your passion.
What about the word “potential”? That too is a dynamic word that goes somewhere. I could have written my phrase “Ultimate Creative Potential in Christ.” For me, “potential” implies an “always becoming” process.
Sometimes I wonder if “potential” can ever be fully achieved in this life. But what about the fully trained athlete at full performance on her A Game? Has she achieved her full potential? Maybe. Maybe not.
For a while, I think I will stay with the definition that says we can not fully “achieve” our true total potential in this life. We are “always becoming.” Like the journey to one’s passion, the journey to one’s potential is also life-long. It too takes intentionality and determination to live into our God-given potential. So, I could have used the word “potential” in my phrase.
Why would I choose the word “Ultimate” in the phrase “Ultimate Creative Potential in Christ?”
For me, the word “ultimate” is cosmic: A participation in the Cosmic Reality of Christ with moments of divine union with Him. He seeks those of us who are open to the possibility of divine union, and will invite him in for delicious moments of oneness.
I think of the child’s song, “Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Come in today. Come in to stay. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.” When we really mean the invitation and open the door of our hearts for him to come in, there will be renewing moments of knowing his presence.
His heart in your heart.
Your heart in his heart.
Hmmm…
The word “Ultimate” is also down to earth at a personal level. It means I give my ALL in love with my Beloved Jesus. Will that make my Creative Potential unique? Yes, but my creative potential without being also ultimate, cosmic, and in Christ, runs the danger of putting my ego back in the center. Again.
I want the words: “Ultimate” and “in Christ” in my phrase. I want the dynamic of co-creating with Him, using the gifts from Him to their fullest capacity. “Ultimate,” meaning as complete as possible. And that would equate with my creative potential, being absolutely Unique.
So, why didn’t I use the word “Unique” in my phrase, “Ultimate Creative Passion in Christ. After all, there is no one else like me, like you, including when we’re in Christ. Especially then. We each have something to offer that is unique to who you are, to who I am.
Your uniqueness in Christ has a purpose.
My uniqueness in Christ has a purpose.
In one way or another, offering our uniqueness will be for the sake of building up the Body of Christ as an alternate community in the world, with the mission of bringing in the Kingdom of God. But with a unique twist to it. In serving from your uniqueness, you will find your path to wholeness in Christ.
Since you’ve read this far, can you guess what my passion is? My passion is to help others discover their own intentional path through the wilderness, growing into their “Ultimate Creative Passion in Christ.” When each of us discovers our path, we will find peace in our spirit, a holy love in our soul, healing for our physical bodies, and what the Lord is calling us to do and to be.
Wholeness in Christ for me and you, is my passion.
That’s why I named this website “Launch Your Well Being.”
